About Us
Founders
A common need in the community and a desire to make a difference in the lives of children led this family to launch Youth Avenue Solutions, LLC: Edutainment Learning Center and DeJuan Ellis Sports Performance Training. As most working parents, DeJuan and Tonya noticed that by the time they both came home from work, there was limited time dedicated in assisting their children with homework. After spending a short period of time helping with homework, it was time for dinner, preparation for the next school day, then bedtime. Eventually, DeJuan and Tonya discovered that they were not the only family having this challenge. Families in their community were too! DeJuan and Tonya came up with a solution that would benefit both their family and the community. With the growth of the business over the years, Youth Avenue Solutions offers more than just homework assistance. YAS is committed to serving the youth. We believe that we have a responsibility to provide young people with the tools needed to succeed in life using the resources of Edutainment Learning Center and DeJuan Ellis Sports Performance Training as avenues.

History: Established in 2005, we were a small learning center that served a limited amount of children. Fast forward to the present and we now have the opportunity to serve more families with two locations in the Southern Maryland area.
Edutainment Learning Center
(ELC)
ELC is a Maryland state registered Youth Club that was established in 2005, which offers school-age children an affordable alternative to child care through the Before & After School Youth Club. ELC offers a variety of educational and recreational youth clubs. Children have access to the following clubs within our center:
- Academic/Homework
- Arts & Crafts
- Computer
- Fitness
- Game
- Activity
Tutoring is available during the school year and a Maryland State certified Summer Camp is offered during the summer months.

DESPT is a sports performance training center that is designed to help athletes become bigger, faster, stronger, and more explosive. Our mixture of high and low impact plyometric training, slow and fast twitch muscle development, and explosive training is designed to help our athletes better prepare for the next level.
